COMPETITIONS & LOCATIONS

"Nailympia is simply the most important title in the world! I have in my collection 159 medals and cups from various worldwide championships; the only one I was missing was the most important one - the title of World Champion with the Nailympia Global Cup. I like to set the bar very high and decided to fight for this title. The Nailympia championship is very important to me. I’ve been participating in them (I’ve travelled to London, Sydney, Tallinn, Houston and Orlando locations) for four years and have accumulated 87 Nailympia medals! That's over half of my collection! I love this championship for its different categories, judge selection and great atmosphere."
Joanna Bandurska

"I invite all nail professionals to participate in the Nailympia championship, as it's proved itself to be a respectable event that attracts the best competitors from around the world. Moreover, Nailympia offers many competition categories, where you can showcase your professional skills and indulge in creative opportunities. It offers a great chance to take a step forward – as preparing for competition is very good practice, helping to develop nail skills much faster and stronger than regular salon work... Competing at Nailympia not only improves skills but earns respect among clients and colleagues. And if you're thinking of becoming an educator, taking to the competition arena is a must! Also, competing allows you to meet lots of interesting people. And above all, this is a step into a new and exciting professional life. So, please register for Nailympia, and I'll see you there!"

Elena Maltseva, international educator, inventor of many nail design techniques, and international judge - Russia

"The organiser goes to great lengths to bring together the best nail artists from around the world. And they are all at the top of their game with years of experience and, very often, champions in their own right. It isn’t about qualifying as a judge! It’s about being the best in the industry and ‘qualified’ to judge others. The scoring system is such, that each individual judge can focus on their own skill set. It also means that no one judge can unduly influence the results to any degree. The scores are always fair and appropriate... The rules and floor judges are such that every entrant is competing on a level playing field. Every attempt is made to ensure no one has any advantage over another. This year's rules are simple, yet strictly held... Lastly, alongside the traditional and loved categories, Nailympia always introduces new and innovative categories. These are designed to keep up with trends in the industry and also to stretch and excite nail artists. Maybe even encourage those who've never competed to give it a go. This year will be no exception! That’s why it’s the best in the world."

Marian Newman, international session stylist, educator & head floor judge for Nailympia - UK

"Competing in Nailympia has done so much for my career. I wouldn’t be where I am today without stepping onto the competition floor. I'm so grateful for the opportunities it has opened up for me, for the amazing people I've met along the way and the fact that competing has made a huge difference in my technical skills."

Kathy White, Nailympia Australasia,  Winner of Winners, Division 3, 2017

"Bringing international competitors together, Nailympia is the ultimate competition experience. It not only brings competitors from all over the world together, but also brings the experience of all the judges. With a range of categories to cover all areas of the nail industry, it allows techs to be creative and deliver perfection in the craft of nails. The Nailympia team is like a family; everyone has a part in bringing the competition together, but the pride in each competitor from all parts of the globe is what makes being a judge, and now for me as a competition team coach, such a rewarding role. It's one of the biggest nail competitions worldwide and it's still growing; it's also perhaps one of the best to enter. The sense of achievement, the feeling of inclusion and to be able to experience the nail love, is probably the best reason to enter. the second best is the recognition for stepping up and out of your comfort zone and showing the world how amazing you are. Nailympia is like a family, and like any family, it wants you to succeed. I'm very proud to be part of Nailympia."

Sam Biddle, UK International Educator, Judge &  Competition Mentor/Coach

"Nailympia is the most demanding competition and the most global hosted in the world. As a competitor you get to meet participants from all around the world, which is very exciting. Among the high number of participants we see in London, we get test out our skills and identify the real nail masters. This is the most exciting and gripping championship that I have participated in!"

Lena Kurach-Kozlowska, Poland, Nailympia GlobalChampion 2018

"Mentoring my students through their Nailympia journey over the last six years has helped me to empower them to challenge, motivate and learn about themselves as well as being a positive force within themselves."

Anna Lee, CND EA & competition coach/mentor UK

Why I decided to organize the world known nail competition in Estonia?

"The answer is very simple – it is love!

"It was a surprising and unusual turn of events in my life. This story might sound a bit like fairytale. I was an ordinary nail tech, until I decided to participate in a nail competition for the first time. After completing a course, six months later, I was competing among some of the most respectable leading nail techs from the USA, UK and Russia. This was 10 years ago and at that time I realised that my future and competitions were bonded for life. I was so scared at that table, but I felt like I was at home!

"In that first competition, I barely made last place, yet I knew I'd found my purpose and in life and what I needed to do in order to be happy! I promised myself that within six months I would make the top 3 - and eventually I did. I made it among the winners and received my first Nailympia award. I then took a learning journey. I discovered new techniques, awakened my artistic abilities, as well the ability to share my own knowledge with others. The most important thing for Nailympia contestants to understand is that the unbelievable drive for any competition comes from the process of preparation, the team and the training process too! That is a life style, which becomes part of you and your future. It completes you, educates and makes you happy!

"I've participated in many international nail competitions, I've received a huge number awards and prizes, I've lived through many ups and downs as well. During the last 10 years  I've faced many obstacles.

"Great satisfaction from the victory, adrenaline rushes, evaluation of your work and always a great thrill  - that's what the nail tech will get from a nail competition; a comp that has the best nail judges, of course. These competitions have to offer fair judgment, control and order, and most importantly the nail industry leaders, who evaluate the work of the contestants must be leading nail experts in the world.

"I was the owner of a nail design school until early 2018 in Estonia and owner of a beauty salon. I have a daughter, which I'm raising alone. (All single mums – this message is for you. If you really want something, your children will support and help you in developing your career!)

"I always held onto the dream of hosting a nail world cup in Estonia. I was patient and in 2017 I decided to take the initiative and emailed the Nailympia office, expressing my desire to take on the responsibility of organising this competition at the highest level! After a long wait and thorough discussions in London, I received a positive reply - with one important condition, which proves that this competition is honest and non-biased.  I had to be free and not associated with any brand or business name. I accepted (sold my distribution) and a whole new era of my life began.

"I sold my entire business and invested everything I had into the celebration of nail magic in Estonia. Time was short, as the contract was signed just two months before the competition was to be held at the biggest beauty exhibition in Tallinn, Estonia. I was aware of all the risks, the admin, the judges invitations and marketing that I needed to employ. However, God was on my side, and everything worked out!

"It was an incredible feeling! My life turned around in a magical way. After all this I'm left with  just one question for Alex Fox. How did the main Nailympia office agree to entrust organisation of the world's greatest nail championship with a well-known 14-year-old reputation to a stranger from another country? Im baffled yet wholeheartedly delighted."

Viktoria Prihodko, Nailympia Estonia organiser/host  - Estonia

"Nailympia has given me the opportunity to meet people from all around the world and see and learn from other nail techs too and got to measure myself against the best in the world. Nailympia offers the chance to develop as a nail professional. Everyone that competes can feel the lovely atmosphere on the competition arena and this is why you get a lot of new friends and learn so much from other techs. I'm so happy that I now get the chance to be a judge and see all beautiful nails from the other side of the competition arena!"
