Donations requested to get the medical attention Polish nail industry figure requires

Pulling together in the nail industry when we need to is a skill we are all very expert in. Today the team at Nailympia implores you to support a serious cause.

Past Nailympia competitor with Team Indigo, nail artist, brand developer and distributor, Katarzyna Kaczmarek of Poznan in Poland, needs urgent medical attention in Germany that requires 500,000zt, just over £100,000.

Katarzyna (Kasia), tells her story. “In August 2025, I was diagnosed with a malignant grade IV brain glioma (glioblastoma). I have undergone radiotherapy and am undergoing chemotherapy; however, the disease has a very aggressive course. To have a real chance of further treatment, I need additional, specialised therapy in Cologne, Germany.

“Until recently, my life looked completely different. Everything changed in August 2025, when tests confirmed the diagnosis of an aggressive tumor of the central nervous system. From that moment on, an intense fight for health and life began.

“Treatment in Poland is carried out with the full commitment of the medical team, for which I’m extremely grateful. Unfortunately, in the case of this disease, standard treatment often turns out to be insufficient, and time is of the essence. The disease is developing dynamically, therefore – according to consultations – it is necessary to move into therapeutic options outside of the country. I’ve decided to undergo treatment in Cologne because there are specialised neuro-oncology centres there that deal with the treatment of brain tumors on a daily basis, work as part of multidisciplinary teams (neurosurgeons, oncologists, radiotherapists), they offer in-depth diagnostics, individual treatment plans and – if the patient meets the criteria – the possibility of qualifying for modern therapies and clinical trials. In my case, treatment abroad is not an alternative, but a necessity to increase the chance of stopping the progression of the disease and extending my life.

“The cost of treatment and medical care in Germany is very high. I’m collecting PLN 500,000 (Euro 120,000.00) for specialist consultations, in-depth neuro-oncological diagnostics, treatment and therapies, accommodation, travel, translation of medical documentation, check-ups and follow-up care.

“This collection is a real chance for me to continue fighting. Every contribution, even the smallest, makes a huge difference. If you cannot support me financially, please share the fundraiser. It is also an important form of help.

Thank you with all my heart for your support, kind words and every kindness shown.”

Close friend, nail artist, educator and former Nailympia competitor, Paulina Walaszczyk, cites, “Kasia has always been a charismatic person, so full of energy. She has taken part in many International competitions and won about 70 trophies during that time. She is mum to Borys, an 11-year-old boy and has been running her own business for two and half years selling her nail brand, OLTI.

“Since Kasia’s diagnosis, myself and a few friends have been supporting Kasia by taking care of her brand so she can focus on recovery and family. Unfortunately, she needs treatment outside of Poland and she’s established an official fundraiser for this.”
