Career biography: I have worked in the professional nail industry since 1997 & have been educating nail technicians since 2002. Throughout my career, I have worked as an international session nail artist across London, Paris, Milan & New York Fashion Weeks, as well as on TV, film & music video productions. As Head of Education at Glitterbels, I lead the development of education programmes, training resources & technical standards. I also served on the panel responsible for updating the National Occupational Standards for the nail industry & continue to develop training programmes that support nail technicians worldwide. Alongside education, I regularly judge national and international nail competitions and remain passionate about raising standards and supporting the next generation of nail professionals.
Personal biography: When I’m not immersed in the nail industry, you’ll usually find me planning my next adventure. I love travelling, exploring new countries & skiing. Keeping active is a big part of my life, I love fitness & boxing. My busiest & favourite hobby is supporting my two daughters, who compete internationally in 'cheer', including at the Cheerleading World Championships. I love watching them pursue their dreams & being part of their incredible journey. I enjoy meeting new people, experiencing different cultures & embracing every opportunity to learn something new.
Why you believe in nail competitions?: I believe nail competitions are one of the best ways to develop as a nail technician. They challenge us to refine our skills, improve our attention to detail & push beyond what we thought we were capable of. Every competition is an opportunity to learn, whether through preparation, constructive feedback or watching the work of other talented competitors. Competitions also play a huge role in raising standards across our industry, encouraging excellence, creativity & professionalism. As a judge, I believe in being fair, consistent & objective, recognising outstanding work while providing feedback that helps competitors continue to grow. Success isn’t measured solely by medals, but by the confidence, knowledge & skills gained along the journey.
Advice to competitors: If you’ve ever thought about entering a competition, my advice is simple: go for it! Stepping outside your comfort zone is where the greatest growth happens. Whether you’re entering your first competition or your fiftieth, every competition offers an opportunity to learn, refine your skills & challenge yourself. One of the most inspiring aspects of competitions is seeing the very best in our industry come together. The talent, creativity & passion on display is incredible & there’s always something to learn from being part of that environment. Compete against your own standards, embrace the feedback & enjoy the experience. Every competition is another step in your journey as a nail professional.
