Career biography: My journey in the nail industry began quite unexpectedly. While studying for my BSc (Hons) in Business Studies at Lincoln University, I had the opportunity to work part-time at a nail salon. What started as a casual job gradually grew into a genuine passion — something that truly captured my heart & changed my career direction completely. In 2021, alongside pursuing my Master’s degree in International Accounting & Finance, I opened Tran Papp Studio in Chelmsford. A year later, I expanded by launching Salon Miu Tran Nails in Southend, which was successfully franchised in March 2025. I’m now focusing on personal & professional growth at Tran Papp Studio, continuously improving my techniques & competing internationally. My next goal is to become a qualified nail educator - to inspire & share my knowledge with the next generation of passionate nail artists.
Personal biography: Beyond my nail career, I find joy in simple & creative things - caring for my pug & white Siberian cat, learning new languages, painting & playing the piano. I also love writing short stories, which lets my imagination wander & I practice Jiu-jitsu to keep my body & mind balanced.
Why you believe in nail competitions?: I believe in nail competitions because they push artists to grow, challenge their creativity & continuously improve their skills. Competitions provide a fair & transparent platform where hard work, precision & artistry are recognised. Beyond personal development, they foster a strong community, where we can learn from peers & industry leaders, exchange ideas & be inspired. For me, competitions are not just about winning - they are about setting higher standards for myself & contributing to the growth of the nail industry.
Advice to other competitors: My advice to other competitors is to stay true to your passion & focus on continuous improvement. Competitions are not just about winning, but about learning, pushing your limits & discovering what you are truly capable of. Take every challenge as an opportunity to grow, be open to feedback & enjoy the journey — your dedication & creativity will always shine through.
