Why did you choose to join the Nailympia circuit?: I started competing in Nailympia Competitions online during Covid. It was a very stressful & anxious time for me & I needed the distraction of my nail art to keep myself calm. I thought it was just a temporary period in my life, but I fell in love with competing! It gave me a reason to create. I believe Nailympia is one of the most prestigious nail competitions, worldwide. It is more than a competition, it is a community that is very encouraging & supportive of nail artists. I feel the many judges are always fair & the judging process is done very carefully & professionally.
What has winning at Nailympia done for your career & confidence?: I have gained immense confidence by joining in Nailympia competitions. I am also thankful that I was able to compete at a distance by the online opportunity It can be very expensive to travel to all the different places where these competitions are located, so I appreciate the ability to compete online. I do hope that I may compete in the live arena someday soon.

Career biography: I began my nail career by obtaining my Estetician Nail Technician certificate in 2017. I opened my own private nail studio in 2018. I then began taking as many classes as I could find. I travelled to Los Angeles, Vancouver & other closer cities for classes. I have also taken many online courses to gain as much knowledge & confidence in my new career. Around that time I discovered my love for nail competitions by entering Nails Magazine's NTNA competitions , which I won and received a feature in their magazine. After that point I started entering as many competitions as I was able, this is where I discovered the Nailympia competitions as well as Scratch Magazine competitions. I am competing in the second season of the “North American Star Nail Artist”.
Personal biography: I have been a nail technician for 8 years now. Aside from being a nail artist, I have also created wall murals & wall art paintings. I have 3 published children’s books that I have illustrated. I also very much enjoy golfing during the summer with my husband & family.
Why you believe in nail competitions?: Nail competitions give you the opportunity to increase your talents & gain confidence. Learning & trying new techniques while creating your mini masterpieces. It’s not all about the winning; it’s about gaining knowledge & skill. You also create a network of friends from around the world & cheer each other on.
Advice to other competitors: Have fun & just do it! Follow those nail artists that inspire you & take classes to learn their skills & what makes them successful. Never stop learning & pushing yourself to do better. Listen to the judges' comments & try to improve for the next time.
